Stocking a 105 gallon tank

Hello! I have bought a new 400L tank (105L). Got a skimmer (Aqua one g220), will be buying 3 Tunze powerheads (total flow 5400L/hr): 2 facing each other and one at the back on a timer to create varied flow. Will be using Red Sea coral pro salt, and RO/DI water. Planning on 10% water changes fortnightly. Will have soft corals, but nothing more advanced then that. Got 77 pounds of dry rock and aiming for a 2-3 cm sand bed (1-1.5 inches).

I will only add 2 clownfish to start and after that, no more than 1 fish every month. Maybe 1 fish every 2 months. Slow and steady :)

So after all that my question is, what am I allowed to have at maximum capacity? (I don't want heaps of fish, I want a decent number but more importantly what keeps them healthy). Could anyone give me examples of a mix please?

For example, 2 clownfish, 3 chromis, a goby, a shrimp, 3-4 snails, one hermit crab, and one yellow tang (am I allowed a tang???). How is that?

Thank you

The general rule of thumb for a new hobbyist is one inch of fish (adult size of the fish) for each five gallons of tank. So around 20 inches of fish is a good capacity. This is just general though, thins like very active fish (Tangs) and sedentary fish (Clown Goby) and move that needle higher or lower.

You can try the Chromis. Although inexpensive they don't seem to last for new hobbyists.

The Yellow Tang is a nice centerpiece fish for your system. How long is the tank? If it's a cube then a Tang could be stressed. If it's long with a good sized swimming lane then I think you're fine.

I'd suggest more than one Shrimp, at least a pair. They seem to be healthier (and more entertaining) in groups in my experience.

LOTS more snails in my opinion. Also a variety of species. I prefer snails that can reproduce in the tank.

Aside from slow and steady factor in fish size and how territorial they are so you will know in what order to added them

The tank is 1.32metres in length.

Ok I see! So less territorial fish first so they can find a place to live :)
