The red...hard stuff...is coraline algae, and you want that
I do see a little fuzzy stuff too though....that would be hair algae ...that you do not want.....pick it off
also, on the rock above your mushroom...there is a little round spot....is that a bubble???? I can't tell from the pic
yea, it's a little bubble, i will take it out ASAP.
so the red stuff on rocks is good thing? i also just bought cleaner shrimp, and i will pick up couple sally foot crabs soon.
bubble algae reproduces very fast. They have a tendendy to lodge in crevices where it's almost impossible to dislodge them with gentle finger proding. Forget about tools to dislodge them, they pop and you get a million spores or whatever. Just my two cents. I have a lot of them and I get most of them with my fingers.
what about Cyanobacteria.
Try and scrap some of the red dtuff off and if it comes off easily and its slimy, its cyanobacteria a.k.a red slime algea. (bad)
If it soesnt come off easily at all and its hard and crusty, its coraline agea (good)
