I go to bed and look what happens!!!!!
and I am goign to have to disagree with the folks who say is doesn't hurt, cause if you have a high tolerance to pain then DUHHHHHHHHHH it isn't going to hurt :notsure:
It is nothing like the pain of a contraction, i will take getting a tat to giving birth any frickin day!!
My lower back was probably the easiet one. Then one below my neck felt more like a sunburn.
The one on my leg was ok too. It was the butterfly that did me in. None of my tats scabbed as bad as this one did. Not even close to what I went through with this one.

i wanted to get one or two, but my hubby said either nothing or all. He would love it if i were covered in tattoos... i won't do that to myself, so i can't get any...

I have numerous piercings. My nipples are both done, didn't hurt. My tongue, didn't hurt...even when I stretched the hole out big enough to pop out the entire barbell. Then I went and got married... had to take 'em all out. ::sigh:: I miss my metal

Mimzers, you totally surprise me. You know, when I got my ears pierced when I was like 11 my dad was so pissed and his comment to me was "what's next, your nose". Now, I laugh 'cause if he had just started it back then he could be rich now. Poor old pops, just can't keep up with the times. :hilarious I would love to get my belly button pierced but I have to do some major sit ups before then.

pierced in college and I thought it hurt like hell and I bleed like a pig. My wife hated it and once we started dating it didn’t last long.

LoL, my Mom took me to get my ears pierced when I was just shy of my 12th birthday - my father lost it. LOST it. U shoulda seen him when I bought my first pair of heels...started wearing makeup... Poor man. Gotta love him though - that's y I made sure my folks never knew about ANY of my piercings. They don't know about my tat, either. It took a lot of creativity to hide a tongue piercing, lemme tell ya.

I have three children and Of course I would a straight loser if I tried to tell tem that are not allowed to get piercings or tats.
But I do request that I be there when they do decide to get it done. I am not concerned on what they will pick but of the safety that the shop will take to ensure the not only the safety but the cleanliness of the location. I had a friend get her nosed pierced in Berkeley from a street vendor!!! WHAT the heck she was thinking is beyond me!!
I got my nose pierced from a person who was certified to. Showed me their entire process (opening the new gun and new earrings!) before they did it. No longer have the nose ring....kids kept ripping it out when they were babies.

welllllll...there's lot of history behind that thar rule. First of all, it's right there in the old testament. Like, right there. There are many many many speculations as to why we are required not to have tattoos - the consensus is usually that idoleters made this a pretty popular practice during various religious ceremonies, and we try to make sure we don't do anything the pagans of that day did.
Then there's the idea that the statement in the Old Testament is only talking about not being allowed to tattoo the name of G-d. But the fact that there is reasonable doubt means that we should simply not tattoo anything at all.
So yah. I'm a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad baaaaaaaaaaaaaad girl.

EEK! Oh Keleigh, PROMISE me you'll never have another piercing done by a peircing gun again!!!! Those things can't be sterilized in an auto-clave, so they can carry staph infections and all sorts of nasty things - even when brand new! Plus, the way they force the jewelry through the layers of skin creates an exorbitant amount of scar-tissue, making infection more likely, as well as heightening the chance of the piercing rejecting or growing out.
Go to a real body-piercing place, get it done by needle. I also had piercings done by gun until I learned more about them; I can tell you with certainty that the needle is always better. It even hurts less!

Just another way to control the person and their OWN body.
Tattoos have been around for a long time, tribally and even when folks were being moved over to the "CHrisitian" way.
King Arthur had Dragons tattooed on his arms to show that he fought under the Uther Pendragon Flag which in turn meant he fought for Avalon, of course we all know Avalon were straight Pagans!!

The gun they used was in a sealed bag, had to be ripped open in order to be used (same as the needles used in tattoing) that way you knew you were getting a clean gun.
I now would actually prefer the needles than a gun. Gun can get jammed and stuck on you. Had that happen with an ear piercing, NOT cool.

Man am I an idiot. I always assumed it had something to do with the holocaust and the gremans tattoing all the #s on the Jews forearms.

hhm, no. Interesting that you thought this though. Traditional Jewish law really stopped being canonized after the Talmud/Gemarah - after the destruction of the second Temple, when the Jews were in Babylon. As modernity evolves, the Rabbis sometimes find it is necessary to shape some laws so that they make better sense in today's world. Everything that happens now can be looked at within the context of the existing structure - so there really aren't any completely new additions.
As for the Jews that were tattooed in the camps, that was done against their will (and was of course, another jab at them on the part of the nazis), so no one would ever tell them they're sinners b/c of their tattoos. Ultimately, it's between them and G-d, obviously, but as far as the community is concerned, death-camp tattoos are a non-issue.

LoL, now, I know there aren't many Jews.... but it's not THAT small of a community

I haven't looked at the news lately.... ok, just checked the NY Times - apparently he's still in the coma they induced after the surgery. ::sigh:: they're trying to bring him out of it slowly, he's been in it for 9 days and they're lowering the meds steadily in the hopes that he might wake up - but at this point things aren't looking good and there might be extensive brain damage.
Oy. This man has not had an easy life. I wish him only the best.
