My girlfriend said the same thing about the skull, kinda funny. i will have to look up green star polyps, but they are really cool looking. They are very small but almost a neon green middle and one line of neon on each "leaf or branch"

I have already spent a lot of time just staring at the rock, who knew it would be so interesting.

Ok my temperature is fluctuating from day until night. The change is about 78.5 in the day to about 76.0 at night. I will be getting a heater before I add any fish. I thought it would actually be worse. Anyone have any comments on my testing results from yesterday?

Ok just a couple of pics. First one is obviously just another FTS with the tank looking nice and clear, and the second one is showing some kind of hair algae or something, not really sure but it is short and kind of looks like hair. Anybody else have a clue?

THROW SOME FISH IN NOW. LOL. Just kidding. Looking wonderful though. is that 8 lbs of lr ? looks small but i am sure its fine
keep up the good work and be patient with it. Hopefully those green star polyps and that zoo make it through the cycle. It would be a great freebies if they did. Catch ya later.

Yes you can, you can put any of the maxijet pumps in. They are all the same size, I have the 900 in mine, I think it puts out something like 240gph. My stock pump will be used to mix saltwater and also to pump it back into the tank for water changes.

Ok so last night, I scraped off the back of chamber 2, it came off fairly easily using a razorblade. I also got a nice little 9 watt light that I am going to velcro onto the back. I will remove the bioballs from the second chamber and put in some lr rubble and a wad of chaeto. Now I just need some rubble and chaeto, one question though...Is there any harm in starting the fuge before the tank has really cycled? Now it is possible that I might not get much of a cycle from the cured lr and established tank water, but I do wonder if I could just start setting up the fuge? Any suggestions, not a big deal if I have to wait a month before I set-up the fuge, but I am anxious to get it done.

Looking good so far looking forward to seeing it with live stock after the cycle? How long have you had it up for? I have a 29g that has been up for about 4 months and I just added some lr and everything is getting back to normal from the move lol

It has been setup since 7/10/08. Chomping at the bit to put livestock in it myself, but I know patience is crucial especially in the early going.

Its really hard but worth it! I got really good lr from my dads 3 year old tank and ls from my lfs and mine tank cycle was fairly quick. Haven't lost anything so far. What are your par's? Are u testing your self
