I'm ready for a new book and I'm not sure what I want to read. Wondering if anyone has read any great books that they just couldn't put down.
I don't have any specific type of book that I want. I've read most of the Grisham books, several by Dean Koontz and John Saul. I've read a lot of Star Wars books. I've read most of Stephen King's books too. I could do something different this time.
Never read The DaVinci Code. I read The 5 People I Meet in Heaven but not Tuesdays with Maury. I could also pick up an old classic... haven't read Catcher in the Rye for years.
Any suggestions...

DaVinci code is good, but pick up Angels and Demons first if you're gonna go with Dan Brown books, its way better IMO.
My book selections is kinda "messed up" as I love Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles books and I own all of Chuck Palahniuk's books (Fight Club, Choke, etc).

Actually I forgot to mention Anne Rice's vampire books. I read them all a few years ago and loved them. Never read Chuck Palahniuk. I also never read James Patterson but a lot of people like him... I tried to pick up Along Came a Spider but never really got into it and gave it up pretty quickly.

Anything by R.A. Salvatore...he was the one that started the "new Jedi order" series in star wars...he has many novels out. Most revolve around one character....If you want to read one I would start with "The Crystal Shard". This trilogy is not his best, but lays the ground work for everything else he has written. Or you could start with "Homeland".

you should read Garfield Goes To Town... it may be a bit above your reading level but since you just finished "see spot" this might be the challenge youre looking for!!!

The Alex Cross series by James Patterson is really good, not only couldn't I put the first one down, i kept going back for more till I read the whole series
the second book in the series was made into a movie, Kiss the Girls, with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd, if you've seen that it'll let you know what the books are about (crime / detective)

I wouldn't be much help here as I NEVER read fiction... that's what they make movies for IMO... I read to learn about different things, life, events etc.
I could walk out of the bookstore with a huge stack.. but if I were to pick out a fiction.. it's like going to the video store and knowing nothing about the movies to me.

The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan.
there's so much left out and left to the imagination only to be revealed two to three books later, you'll keep rereading them.
the final book is supposed to come out soon, but robert died and some other guy is finishing the series.
btw, the series started i think near 1992 and has a HUGE fan base and its own forums.

Malcolm Gladwell. Wifey just picked this up yesterday. Read a couple of chapters and is very interesting.
