summer temps?

What does everyone do about the hot summer temps and their tank? Is there some kind of cooling device to put in you tank?

not to sound stupid but I'm farley new and not sure what a sump is I have a bak pak 2 and 1 powerhead. sorry?

Ahhh.. no that's fine. If you're curious do a search on sump.
For now, is there a way you can mount a small fan to blow air across the water surface?

We bought a chiller to maintain temp. They are expensive, but the cheapest I found was $299

One way to lower the temp a few degrees is to have good water circulation in the tank and good air circulation across the top water surface. A small fan placed were it blows air on to the water often works well on smaller tanks. Raising lights or running lights for a shorter time can help sometimes too.
There are different types of water " chillers " you can place inside or plumb into the system that work well and keep the temps stable but they are a lot of money to buy and operate.
