well if i got a 55 gallon tank or bigger i would be getting a blue line or spot puffer so i wouldnt do corals. but if it was smaller id just do like feather dusters, gorgonians, and some frogspawns. honestly i dont even know what an SPS coral or softies or whatever are... kinda new to SW and havnt really looked into the coral department. right now im just looking to find a cheap tank. and if smaller than 55 id prob want PC lighting.. i dont think i would need MH. im not going to be that much into reef. thanks

o gotcha....
believe me it starts small and gets bigger from there lol
i started as a fish only tank then slowly got into inverts then into some anemones then into some soft corals such as colt coral and leathers.... then wanted LPS corals such as frogspawn, bubble coral and more.... then i wanted sps corals which are the small polyped stony corals the branch lookin ones.... such as staghorns and such...
so then i got a 180g tank and went all out on the equipment and setup lol
like i said starts small and gets bigger lol just do it right the first time and ull be happy i learned the hard way many a times with bad information from the LFS and i spent lots of wasted money and time with the wrong equipment and animals....
ask questions around this board and u will do 100% better theres lots of talented enthusiast on this board so u have lots of knowledge available to u
good luck!

who is the manfature of the bulb you use murph. Do you have a preference in manfatures. The reason I ask is it is time to change my bulbs and I would like to go from 10k to the 14s but not sure who makes the best, Right now i have the aquamedic HQI 10k

Glad your tank is doing well down in thousand oaks...your tank survived the heat wave!
I lost my frogspawn and bubble due to the heat spike this summer...

Nice Job!...hook me up with some frags.
