Okay, as promised Scotts, let's get started.
A little info. first, then I'll start putting up some pics as I can. I have a few I can get to here at work, but I won't get all this done in one day.
Project: My wife and I finished building our house last year. However, in the early planning stages, we both agreed that we wanted a SW tank, she just had no idea what I was about to do
DT is a 280 gal. starphire glass from glasscages, measures 72"L x 36"W x 25"H
Worked out a pretty good deal with them, and saved a boatload on shipping by meeting them at a trade show in Raleigh and picking up the tank there.
Sump is 65 gal. modified build, with a Blueline 70HD mag drive external pump.
Lights: (2)T12 super actinic 72" long and (3) 250W Metal Hallides
Other: (2) Tunzi ph's with auto controller, RODI with auto-topoff system, JBJ Arctica chiller 1/3 hp
The idea was to build the tank into a wall & not have it sitting on a visible stand. As the house plans progressed, I chose a divider wall which separates our kitchen from the living room, making the dt visible on both sides. I originally had octogon viewing windows on each end, since you can walk around the wall on either side, however I ditched the idea since I would need the ends for overflows, cords, etc.
