I'm not sold on T5 yet. They are intense but they require a pretty sophisticated reflector to get a decent amount of light from them. I would choose them over PC for sure but I will be sticking with VHO until the T5 comes with an internal reflector.
IMO T5 are far better than vho the reflector is the key. if you look into t5 make sure the reflectors come from sunlight supply.
I have seen these setups a few times and they rock.

T-5's might just be the way to go. It just struck me funny that I heard the EXACT same phrase 20 years ago with PC lighting. I tried PC and my coral rebelled so I went back to VHO. This time I'm looking for documented results before making the plunge.
Lucilly, if T5 works as advertised I have IceCap ballasts that will actually overdrive T5 making it even better!
Perhaps it's time for another coral experiment.
