I see all these additives for your tank, Iodine, essentional something or other... are they necceseray? or a waste? should I be adding anything to my tank to make it grow? or does this happen on its own? thanks in advance for all your help.
Your tank isn't going to grow no matter what you do.
IMO SW aquariums just need regular water changes, Calcium, Bicarbonate, and occationally a Magnesium bump. Never dose anything unless you have tested for it and know it's low.
well I have had my SW tank running for about 2 months now or so... and I check the Nitrate, Ph, Alc, & Salt levels about ever 3-4 days... what else should I test for? and how do I test them... thanks again.
right now I have a 45 Gallon tank, I Have 45-50 lbs of Live rock
1-Porcupine puffer
1-yellow tang
1-atlantic blue tang
2-clown fish
2-damsels
1-anemone (2 rose bubble tip's ordered)
20-turbo snails
Regular water changes should keep your water parameters in check IMO.
Do you have all of those fish in your tank already? I'm a bit worried about having an Anemone in there...
really??? the anemone seems to be doing great that is why I ordered another..... I have a 36" 4-96wt Orbit light fixture on it.. and seems to be doing good.. why shouldn't I have an anemone?
That's great if it's working. You just have a really high bio-load of fish and I'm impressed you can maintain good enough water quality for the Anemone.
well I was really thinking about upgrading to a 100 gallon or so... but I wanted to learn with this one? are you guys saying I need to get rid of some fish? I have seen smaller tanks with alot of anemone's and some cool looking items in it.. that is what I am looking to achieve...
