AC, how the heck do you clean your tank without your sharks and rays attacking you? And how do you keep your sand so perfectly white?

I keep real good water quality so I've never had much of an algae problem. The sharks are pretty timid so they don't bother me when I'm in the tank. The sting rays keep the sand pretty well stirred up so the sand always stays nice and white. I do have some hermits and snails in the tank, and yes they get prayed on, but they last suprisingly long.

Sorry about all of the questions. My mom is founding a company that is things go as they should will be very successful, so once that gets up and running, we'll probably move, and we will build a house and a tank similar to yours, only in wall, will be a big part of it.

Wow, is all I can say. I thought the only way to see a shark in this state is to go to The Denver Aquarium. I lived off of 58th and Ward rd. I just recently moved to Westminster. It's so hard to find people in this area that are into this hobby. My boyfriend also has trouble getting me away from my tank and I have just upgraded to a 55 gallon. He would never see me if I had what you have. I'm trying to get him interested in the saltwater hobby, he just can't see how I can sit and stare at a piece of rock for hours at a time. He doesn't consider it a hobby, he thinks it's all I care about.
Anyway thanks for sharing! Would love to see more pictures...

AC, you ever swim in there? Also, when you clean your tank, how do you stay away from your rays? I thought they were poisonous.

All of the animals are there for life. That's why I picked the sharks I did. They stay small. Right now the bamboo is about 24 inches long and the epaullette is about 19 inches. And yes the TV stand is ghetto, but I'd rather spend money on the tanks than a boring old TV stand

Oh yea, they rays really don't pose much of a threat unless you come down on their back. Mine I hand feed so I call them my wet dogs. Very interactive animals, and no I don't swim in the tank.

UMMM WOW!!!!!!!!!!! It's people like you who make me smile. That is just an amazing tank. I am blown away. I took the time to look at all the pics of the building of it too. Your family is very lucky that you are so passionate about sharks. My hubby came home from our LFS and told me about a sting ray they had there and I told him only if he builds me a tank like yours. LOL Keep up the GREAT work and Please continue to teach people about these WONDERFUL fish
