Tank Temperature

I have a 36 gallon bow front. The tank is at 82 degrees. Is this an acceptable temperature? If not what are some means of keeping the temperature down in the tank? I am trying not to purchase a chiller (too much $$$ :) )
Thanks

what type of lighting do u have? i sure u dont need a chiller on such a small tank. i run mine about 80 but it gets to 82 at night from having the lights on all day. 4x55 and 2x65 pc. do u have a heater running? is that the highest the temp gets all day?

I have a 50 watt light and I am about to upgrade to 130 watt lights. The temp stays pretty consistent at 82 I want to try to keep it lower if possible.

If the temp is a constant 82 degrees I don't see a problem. It's the fluctuations that are bad for livestock. :D

82F is perfect IMO. My only concern is Summer approaching. Do you have air conditioning? If so then no worries.
I'd suggest setting your heaters to 81F just to be sure that the temp doesn't fall too fast.

i keep mine at 77. even with 130w pc's and glass top, my temp does not vary (got one of them digital joints as a thermometer, definatly worth the $$$)
