thats cool , but makes me mad at the same time , I bet those people have never once done a water change by themselves.

thats not a bad weekend job!
I wonder if they know that butterfly in their reef tank isn't reef safe

They don't even know where the water goes in at let alone how to do it. If you can pay 125K for a tank you are not changing or cleaning it your self. The cool part of the piece was the guy swiming in his tank.

All the tanks were filled with those fake, plastic looking corals that ATM here in vegas loves to make which look like crap.

its sad that people arent involved in their own "hobbies". i wouldnt start collecting cars if i didnt intend to drive or show them. now truely amazing tanks are ones like ___ weast's (i forgot his first name).

they probably have autofeed so they dont have to do anything but watch ....... half the fun of this hobby i think is making it work and doing everything yourself

Oh stop the hateration we really dont know how involved some of these people are into the hobby. If we had $125K to blow on a tank and could afford someone to do the maintanence perhaps all we'd do is select the livestock and do an occasional test to see if we need to call the fish guy over to rectify any problems. never know unless your in someone's shoes. they didn't have to have a fish tank at all but they must have REALLY wanted one to spend that much.

When I win the lottery....(notice I say WHEN).....I will build my house around the tanks. I love this hobby. Money who cares how much it cost if you have the money to spend on it. I would learn to scuba dive in my livingroom....... :happyfish

If I ever build a house again, I am going to plumb 4 or 5 rooms for tanks and have a massive work room with a 480g+ Sump and refugium to run them all from one central location. I saw a video once of a guy that had 30-120 g tanks all through out his house, Bedrooms, hallways ect... It was too cool.

I just answered this on the new hobbiest page. Amazing tanks yes. However, when the couple from Atlanta said this is my Dory, I about died. Did you see that the hippo was so thin. Do they know this, do they care, or if it dies someone will replace it? It just amazes me. The tanks are beautiful....but if I was paying out $1000.00 a month to take care of it, it better be absolutely gorgeous!!

Oh COME ON 100 dollars for maintmemce all this is ia another trophy for them to show off , notice no live corals ?? Skinny hippo tang , what a bunch of crap

This segment was a bit of a let down. If they wanted to have a truely good segment on large, high-end fish tanks, they should have sought out people like Steve Weast. Not only does he have a beautiful OCEAN in his house, but he installed it and did all the work himself. Now, THAT is inspiration and interesting.

his tank is awesome geeze they coulda even done a segment on my tank lol at least i put in hour after hour of hard work trying to get it the way i want it... these people pay for there tanks to be taken care of and there fake!
how hard can it be to care for a FO tank all the rest is fake ... oh well i guess if i had a bizzillion dollars id do the same.... um no id still do it all myself thats half the fun!

I agree, Murph. I even enjoy doing water changes on my tank because I love when my tank looks clean and nice and it shows how much work I put in to make my tank beautiful.
