Forgive me if I'm hijacking your thread meowzer but I must ask florida joe a question.
What is DTS stand for? Is it the dissolved solids?
Anyway a TDS meter is measuring the electrical conductivity of the materials dissolved in a given volume of water. So it is only measuring whats there, isn't it?
I mean your filters are removing any minerals, salts, metals, cations or anions dissolved in the water right?Whatever is left is what the TDS meter is reading.
Ow, my head hurts now. Am I on the right track, florida joe?
Oh, meowzer, 2 is definitely better than 38.
Ok lets separate your TDS meter from your RO unit. If your RO unite is filtering out 95 percent of the DTS in your water. You are still left with 5 percent. Now depending on your DTS present in your tap water that 5 percent can be any number. So you have to test your tap water take 95 percent away from that. If the number you are left with is the number you get after your RO filtration you have the best you can hope for. Then again what do I know I mean this with all due respect to all involved
