oh it was a girl? lol She did get canned. You know, me just being me, my first reaction is that kid may have had it coming. I'd bet you a dollar to a donut she wouldn't have had any more behavioral issues from her kids. (except for maybe pants wetting)

This is one case I will disagree with you. There are rules and regulations to handle unruly kids. Look at the teacher's stance. She was set up as if she was fighting an adult. Look at her positioning. She was not trying to prevent the child from doing something, she ws outright stating fight me...you want to fight a girl, fight me. She was looking to fight, not teach or discipline....

well...If you read the story the kid didnt do anything. So he said.
It then goes on to say its a school for kids with behavioral problems.

That teacher lookes like a dilenquent herself!
I dont agree with beating on kids tho. Teachers have a responsibility to controll their anger no matter the circumstances. Sure she wont have any discipline problems because she doesent have a teachers job, nor will she ever again.

That's the part that disturbed me. She was ready to go and the boy was just cowering in the corner. I think she could have stopped there and her point was made and she might have saved her job. I'm surprised no kids got invloved but they did look young and were probably also scared.

What I don't get is how isnt that "teacher" in jail. If a parent was caught doing that, GONE! The school better have a high limit on their insurance coverage, this kid's going to be set for life.

As mean as we were to teachers in school. In a sane world we would have been waled on too... I've seen my class mates make grown men cry... I have friends that teach in that district. And there are days, and stories I've heard. Well I'm surprised we don't say go teacher, not postal....
But I'm in no way condoning the actions...

I got in trouble my freshman year in High School. The VP decided to call my Mom and I could hear his end of the conversation. "He's too big to swat". Then he just listened for a minute and said,"Yes but he might hit me back". He was laughing and it was obviously a joke but my mom was obviously telling him to beat the hell out of me
Thanks a lot mom.

I can't remember how many times I was paddled from 7th - 12th grade but it was a lot. I was even giving the option a couple of times of taking my licks or have the school call my dad. I always chose the licks because I was scared shitless of my dad and he has never laid a finger on me. But being 6'4 and benching 480lbs was intimidating enough.

Yeah My teacher In 5th grade used to use a ping pong paddle on us. she was this old lady and we were Youngsters full of piss n vinigar. I always thought it was hilarious when she would try.
as a 5th grader I outweighed her by a good 10 lbs. And laughing, which was inevitable would make her more mad.

I snickered once when a gym teacher was giving me 3 licks. The snicker came after 2 licks and there was no snickering after the 3rd. I had a huge bruise on my right butt cheek. I showed my mom and she asked why did she whip me. I told her that I was late to her class and my mom's response was "well don't be late next time". Todays mom would probably sue the school over that a bruise like the one I got.
Heck even my football coach gave licks based on your grades. I beleive each F got you 5 licks, Ds came with 3 and Cs came with 1. I made straight A's so never got one from him due to my grades but I did laugh once when my best friend got a couple. Big mistake ... he gave me 1 lick and I never laughed again over someone else getting them.

Sort of weird though, if you notice when the camera spins back to the rest of the class, there's vastly different ages in the students. The kid getting beat up, the article says is 13 and seems barely it, but then you have like the black kid on the right that looks like Lamar Odom....

well they said it was a charter school. Which is a not in a school district. It is state funded, but they do their own thing basically. (and for the most part it has been very successful.) So it could be a class with multiple ages. Although remember, these kids are starting to hit their growth spirts. So a 6 foot tall 8th grader isn't that uncommon...

The kid did look like he would have been the type to have it coming, and although I don't think her behavior was acceptable and if someone did that to my kid, they would be swimmin with the fish's, if she was gonna tag him and get fired, she should have at least landed a few that count.
