Telemarketers?

Have any good stories?
I like the Seinfeld episode where he tells the telemarketer that he is busy and asks for their phone number, if you don't know what I'm talking about...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hllDWSbuDsQ
Anyway, since I can rarely understand them anyway, I just wait until they are done talking and ask them to repeat themselves. I just do that over and over and ask a bunch of questions until they have to hang up on me. Maybe that's immature, but I'm 15 what can I say?
How do you handle those situations?
Any good stories?
Sometimes if I get them and a friend is around, I'll pretend I'm talking to my grandma and I say mean things and start yelling.
Anyone have experience being a telemarketer? What stories do you have?
Think, discuss, make me laugh.

While they can be annoying, remember that they are just trying to do their job. It is a paycheck. I am sure that they don't get overly enthused about bothering people at home. I just tell them that I am not interested.

I have zero sympathy or respect for telemarketing companies.
I am on the do not call list for a reason yet these scumbags constantly come up with a loophole to ignore the law. And it isn't just businesses, The Lupus foundation, the american Cancer society and a few other charities will never get another red dime from me because of what I consider to be harassing telemarketing calls and refusing my demand to be removed from their calling list. In the case of the Cancer society is cost them 500 a year plus however much the wife would spend on luminaries at the annual cancer walk.

Well tell him not to call every time I sit down to eat

LOL, It is a living, and he is ADHD and he never shuts up
It is the perfect job for him.
I don't want him to come home again to live, so I won't tell him anything to do concerning that job. I don't like telemarketers either, but I can't say that to him.
I can't be the only Mom with a grown kid that has a job people hate them for. So I just let it go.

Well I was an Insurance agent, but quit bc its commission only. And If you enter your info into a site like netquotes for insurance quotes expect to be contacted. If you are looking for a product which you need why not listen that person may be able to help you out, but listen to them if you are shopping Rant Over. I agree sometimes though you have to mess around one time Sears called my house (which is brick) trying to sell siding Caller: are you the homeowner Me: No im cleaning the place out and robbing it for everything they've got im doin pretty good Caller: hung up lol

Marketer- I dont understand sir?
Me- How do you power it?
Marketer- Well, I guess you plug it in.
Me- So its not wireless!
Marketer- No! Sir, it is wireless, and worth 1500 dollars.
Me- Im sorry, I already have a security system can I just have the 1500 dollars.
Marketer- No sir, it dosen't work that way.

Alright, I will tell one story. My ex husband was in a band called Homicide. I was their "manager". The guitar player used to call at a very predictable time. So, the one day the phone rings. I answer with "Homicide". It is the Fraternal Order of Police. They hesitated for a few moments. Thinking it was the guitar player, I say again, "Hello.. Homicide."... I had to give them a donation after that...

If I ask for information I would expect those I asked to call me back. I don't ask all these people to cold call me.

It gets worse. I get fax's now from them. I find them all the time on my machine. I can handle the calls, even though it gets annoying.m Usually I have my phone set to only answer known numbers. That stops them cold occasionally I'll get one though. I usually start by just totally disregarding their conversation and saying..."I like fat girls, really really fat girls. Are you a fat girl(even if I know its a guy). If they so NO which usually they do)I say well you wanna get fat? Again, they'll say no, then the conversation turns to me trying to convince them to get fat. It usually evolves from there. You'd be surprised how many times they'll just stay on.
