TEmperature problems already.... help!

ok a little off topic.. but how do you like the 14 gallon Bio-cube?? I have heard good things about it...

OK, i got rid of the halogen, and relaced it with an LED fixture. 3watts total and a lot cooler. Tank is now at a steady 80 degrees!

Algae uses light and Carbon dioxide to produce sugar. Dissolved Carbon dioxide forms Carbonic Acid and lowers PH so when Algae consumes CO2 the PH rises. At night with nothing consuming CO2 the PH can drop.
Lighting the refugium opposite the display means algae is consuming CO2 all the time and this can have a stabilizing effect on PH.
yeah, but light isnt getting to the chaeto during the day except from the LED fuge light.

yeah, i love mine. I wish the lighting was a little better (you can change it from some websites). I like mine because of all the inexpensive DIY mods you can do to it

Every tank is different but I can assure you that there is a lot more algae in your system than just the Chaetomorpha.

ohhhhhh,i thought you were only referring to the chaeto. Yeah i got coralline, some filmy green stuff, hair algae, and a quarter size patch of red slime i just noticed. Thanks!
