 first of all, de chlorniator IN the tank? And she said 1 inch of fish for every gallon? 5 gallons right there. She put 2 clowns and a tang? It would appear the tang was at least 3 inches. And all of that crap they put in there. The salt will start to eat away at it and foul the tank too! Well, I guess all those fish are dead, just for the sake of that show! I don't want to go on a rant, but you knew this was going to happen. I didn't get the name of the host? It looked like Debbie Turner and if its her, she is from St. Louis and a
VET!!!

Oh My God! I am sick! We will have to all write them as fish activists and demand that they do a show showing the real proper way to keep a nemo with dorry....and the 100 plus gallons that they need. That little tank is only good for a fresh water beta, small goldfish or a tetra! That fool should be fired from representing her company as she doesn't know S___ about aquariums and saltwater fish. 1 inch per gallon for saltwater fish? Get real! Everyone on this board needs to email the TV network with their outrage over this show. I would not mention Saltwaterfish.com....would not want to get them in trouble. Maybe we need someone on this board that is an expert on this board to go on that show as a rebuttal to tell it like it is about Nemo and Dorry tanks. Any volunteers? I think a fresh water tank is all a kid under 12 should have unless the parrent is into the saltwater hobby enough to make sure that they are cared for properly.
So, everyone.....do your duty and write your emails as saltwater fish rites activists so that people stop killing innocent saltwater livestock! Can you believe throwing in a couple of seahorses and starfish that they held in their hands at the end of the clip! I feel SICK! Lesley

This has been discussed before. Do a search for Tetra and/or CBS news .... I wrote a letter and sent it to all of CBS News ....
not that it has done any good or gotten a response

Hi, Did a search....It says that that show was aired on CBS The Early Show June 14 of this year...If that is true it is a little late for us to email them at this late date unless this was a rerun. Could you please tell us how you got a hold of the link at this late date? And why it is available on the web? Lesley

I've been wanting to finally see that video. All of the previous links posted about it were dead.

I dont think this will ever go away for them. they made a huge mistake when they aired it and didnt bother correcting or even given out a good responce to the problem
This is just one of those things that are just going to keep popping up time after time on the net as people see it that havent heard of it before. thats one thing about the internet it really never just goes away...
just my 2cents worth on it.

That's terrible... I've heard of that bit on that show and even read overanalyzer's letter to the station but never actually saw the clip... thanks for sharing.

I found your letter. Great letter Overanalyzer!! Very well said and educating for them I am sure. my opinion for them not to acknowledge this whole situation is that they would have to show that this company was REALLY wrong, and they contributed to it AND would therefore offend a major sponser $$$$$. The public would come forward with all of the dollars they spent on their now crashed tanks and dead fish. just my .02 maybe this was brought up already. end of rant........!!

I was sickened the first time I saw this, and wrote CBS an e-mail myself. Somehow though, I think all these letters are going in one ear and out the other. :(
Seems to me like CBS should have done a little more research and invited a knowledgeable guest on the show, rather than money-sucking grubs like Tetra.

Well yes it’s kind of sad, but for Tetra great marketing!! And by that I mean how many kids wanted a pet Nemo – my guess probably millions... $$$$$ in tetra’s eyes, so show parents how to make a Nemo tank and the money will roll in... They are a business out to make money - screw the fish, it’s when fish die/get sick you buy more of their products to try and cure your mistake... It’s all marketing
Simply expressing my opinion on it - I don’t agree with the video, yet at the same time see why/how tetra could do something like that. I guess personally I have better things to be concerned about then a tang in a 6 gallon or even a 29 gallon - Umm like starving kids / homeless people ect.... much more in this world thats need tending too then a fish...

I'm not entirely sure how to take your post. I hate what Tetra apparently did, as well as their motives behind it.
That doesn't mean I don't care about starving kids, the homeless, etc, does it?
/shrug
I think as people we are capable of fighting battles against injustice on multiple fronts. If we see something that is wrong, we should speak out against it, not sit back and say "well there are worse things to worry about..."
If that post hadn't been posted, I might buy a Tetra product. That's not an issue for me anymore.

Whats wrong on whos standards? I'm sure in the fishs eyes going from a 50gal to 180gal is splitting hairs considering not so long ago it was free to swim the ocean.
