NM,
Did your blasto's ever split or multiply? I hear they are one of the most hardiest corals to keep and frag.

The Blastomussa Merleti have both gone from two ployps to colonies of 50? or more, having grown very fast within just 8 months under 15K 250 MH (They are shaded however by SPS - a good thing too - otherwise they shrivel). Colors are pink with blue centers and pink with green centers for the seperate colonies.
The Wellsi though... it grows slow and is still recovering from poor shipping from the industry to the LFS. (I bought it the day of it's arrival). It is healing but slowly. Wellsi is an encrusting form of LPS, very much unlike the brittle skeleton of the Merleti which can be fragged REAL easy.
But these new prices are totally rediculous. But still worth it IMO if you find a good colony.

hmm... this would be the perfect place to ask.... what and how do you guys feed your LPS corals? Ive tried feeding my hammer and frogspawn taht are both picture above krill but they jsut get sweeped away in the current. ive also dosed brine shrimp, but that gets swept around and i think my clown fish eats most of it. I dont think they are getting very much....

Turn off your current to spot feed corals. My frogspawn has never eaten anything... seems that is what everyone says about frogspawns. My hammer eats formula 1 every once in a blue moon.

K, I feel really stupid for asking this, but I am just starting corals. I just got 260 watts of PC light for my 55 gallon. I plan to do all softies and LPS corals. Can I see some pics of what corals look like with this type of light? Will that be enough for a torch? I like those.

Oh, and my stupidest question yet is how do I feed LPS corals and softies? Do I feed them phyto a few times a week at night? I feel REALLY stupid.

light, and recycled nutrients from detritus, if you have enough flow that is to keep detritus suspended in the water column.
