The reasons I got a reef instead of a dog!

We lost out Siberian Husky 4 years ago to diabetes. We went through daily blood tests and insulin injections for 2 years at a great expense. When we would go away for a weekend we would have to board her at the vet so they could monitor her levels. It was a lot of work and a lot of money but we loved her so we did it until she passed.
Three years ago I decided I needed another pet and she said no to another dog. They cost too much to buy $1000-1500. Too much to maintain Vet bills are $100 per year and food is $50 every 2 months. Thats assuming that they are healthy. Well then there is time spent training and walking the dog and trips to the park for play. Also when we travel we need someone who will watch the dog. and make sure that everything goes well. A lot of time and money. So my wife said no.
One day I walked into a SWF store and said that cool I will get a fish. My wife said no. I convinced her to spend $50 on a 6 gallon eclipse tank. It had the light built in after all. They $20 for sand and $20 for a rock. Then $10 for a fish. OK so there is $100 on a pet and My wife said fine. I told her that. Hey no problem if we go away and the fish dies its only $10.
Well now I have my 5th tank. I had that eclipse for 6 months before I got a 12 gal nano cube DX. Then another year before I got 2 55 gallons. Now I have a 90 reef with a $700 light.
I know that I've spent over the $1500 I would have spent on the dog. I also know that I spend more that $50 in one month on water and supplies. There is always that new coral I need. and we cant go away. I need someone to take care of the tank. Its a lot harder to find someone who can do that than it is to watch a dog.

Happy b-day. I'm the 20th. I have not done anything about the bubbles yet. Moving the hose helped a little.

Don't drink the water at reefkprZ house unless you want babies! :scared:
reefkprZ, I love the fact that you have a goldfish tank! Somehow that just tops it.

two parrotlettes
african bullfrog - Bud - weiser - er.
giant hissing cocroaches - thats just nasty.
Hell lets just see it all. PM me with a address of the pics if you already posted.
