What are you planning on keeping in the 75??? That along with good combination of reflector such as IceCap or SunlightSupply will play alot into if it's enough lighting.....

I know i asked this before fanker but do you think replacing my t8's in my eclipse hood with 2 t5's would be enough to keep most corals?

ill chime in because ive been doing some research too. T5's are really only worth getting if they have individual reflectors (fixtures like TEK, and aquatinics), if they dont have reflectors for each bulb, theyre not any better than pc's. also t5's work best at a certain temperature, if the bulbs are not at that temperature, the output will drop. TEK fixtures dont have cooling fans and in a test conducted on another forum, the par was like 150ish at 20" vs. some other fixture that did have fans had a higher par-rating of like 320! i dont think im allowed to post the link to that forum's thread so i wont (but it was like 22 pages long). basicly the more bulbs the merrier. just my .02 im looking at the aquatinics 5x 54watt fixture for my 55.

what size tank? if its a 29g than i thing its bigger than 24" so u can get t-5s but if u only have 2 than itll be hard to keep everything but a 4x24w sill be enough

if ur going for cheapness over quality than get a nova 6x54w, but if u want expencive(239$ pluss bulb cost) than get a tek 4x54w but if u want the best and can wait a month or so than get an ati,

t-5s without reflectors are nowhere neer compared to pcs they still have way more par but with less wattage, and if u look at the thread that ur talking about its about 120 pages long

I have a retro set up in my 140. 8-80watt bulbs. 5 are 10k white and 3 are Giesemann super actinic. It also has 12 moon lights. All bulbs have individual reflectors. I put 3 varible speed heat sensing fans in top of canopy and two 5 inch 120v fans on each end, 1 blowing in and the other directly arross from it blowing out. Before adding the side fans the temp in the canopy was 126 degrees. I added the fans now its around 86.
