Is there such a thing as a 100% reef safe angel fish that wont nip sps, softies, leathers, lps, clams, inverts, ect and that will be fine in a 28 gallon mixed reef? Or there is no such thing? If there is a 100% reef safe angel fish that will be fine in a 28 gallon mixed reef, please post what kind will be fine.
-Thanks!

Any Angel that is part of the Genicanthus Genus
i.e.
Bellus-Genicanthus bellus
Lamarck's-Genicanthus lamarck

Swallontail-Genicanthus melanospilus
Watanabei-Genicanthus watanabei
Zebra-Genicanthus melanospilus
etc.
These fish need ATLEAST 100+gallons
as juvi's for swimming. I would suggest 200+ for adults.
From my personal experience, your best bet is a Coral Beauty (Centropyge bispinosus).

9"+ is not a dwarf Angel fish and does deserves to live in something larger than 75gallons of water. I advise you do some legitimate research before posting. For the record it is Genicanthus lamarck; that is the official scientific name. To my knowledge, none of the Genicanthus genus are considered "dwarfs". I am not being rude, I am just keeping other hobbyists from receiving inaccurate information.
Please, no hard feelings, I am not starting a flame war. . .

As stated in every other thread it is hit or miss. I have had great success with the cherub angel. I currently have one who doesn't touch a thing and I had one who died that never touched anything. I have read that hobbyists have success with the coral beauty.

I have a Cherub in my 36gal cube, I have had him for quite some time now, the only thing I have seen him do is nip at a clam once, whether or not it was intentional can't be proven. Overall, very nice fish.

The fish also has cahones and won't back down to any other fish.

I agree somewhat with Brandan. Genicanthus' are not considered Dwarfs, BUT they do not get as big as some of the other Angels.
I think most Geni's can do fine in as small as a 75.
Coral Keeper, if your looking for something fairly safe that will be OK in a 29, I fully agree with Jerry Atrick. I have a Cherub in a 15 gallon with zoas, shrooms, whatever and doing fine. They do get a bit nasty when you introduce other fishy tankmates though.

I agree with them the last post and that is why I would say to put all your other fish in first and put the angel in last.
Gives the other fish a chance to find homes for the the angel steps in and takes over.

What about a Coral Beauty Angelfish? Are they the safest angel? Will a Coral Beauty Angelfish be fine in a 28 gallon HQI nano cube mixed reef?

I think rebelprettyboy had or has a coral beauty in a 29 gallon tank. They get a little bigger than the pygmy angel I think.

Now here's a question for you. Is it better to introduce corals before or after the introduction of this angel? Should you get all your fish besides the angel, then get your corals and add the fish after or get the fish before corals?
