i've gotten 4 fighting conches from swf.com and they were never larger than a quarter size...
you sure they sent you the right ones?
plus, they don't have the knobbies...

S. alatus only grow to about 3 inch size, so they will not "out-grow" the tank. ORA™ sells Fighting Conch at 1-1 1/2 inches. At this size they are "hermit crab proof", so small hermits cannot eat them and steal their shells.

Do they have others???? I order 4 fighting conch's...you see what I got.
Now the little bear conch's are 1"...to 1 1/2"
JUST looked it up again....they are listed as 3-4"

Well here off the skyway bridge I just snorkel around the rocks they extend about 20-30 ft off the shore youll find all kinds of stuff snails,crabs,starfish, lots and lots of sea lettuce you can also find ricordeas and gorgonians you just have to get in and snorkel.

iknow i know.You're right...The beaches here are nasty. THey are better than they used to be though.

Well I have not been there in almost 20 years..lol....so I'll have to take your word for it
Kinda like the Hudson River...In Newburgh NY it is brown....as you go away from there it clears up%%

I live 5 mins from the hudson river (just up the cliff) and its gross. It's green, and dingy, and brown, and nasty. A little while ago I was standing on the pier and threw a piece of food in the water. A fish came up to the surface, and by the time it was less than a foot into the water, it disappeared into the muck. It's a wonder how anything could live in there.
