mine would host in my green florescent shrooms, until i got a plate coral, now they are best buddies, he goes under it every night to sleep, and the plate coral sometimes closes down on him almost all the way like he is protecting "buddy" when i put brine shrimp in the tank "buddy" will actually grab some of it and feed the plate coral, really fun to watch.

I thought hairy mushrooms, especially larger ones, had an appetite for fish? If so, that would not be good.

Hairy Mushrooms are often confused with Elephant Ear Mushrooms. The Elephants will definately eat fish. I believe a large green hairy might also just very infrequently.

I have two large elephant ear mushrooms and neither have an appetite for anything other than light, but I know they are all different.
