Not quite the same, but they do both have tenticles and stalks. Yours are also called Candy apples and do grow much faster, that is why they are only about 1/3 the price of rainbows.

I was actually referring to what you are calling "Candy Apples" as rainbows. I just assumed you had the pictures mis-marked in your first post. Those actually look more like rainbows to me and from what I've seen online. Member spankey has the best picture of rainbow palys and they look much like mine and your "candy apple".
I just looked up "candy apples" and rainbow palys and all the pics of what is supposed be "candy apples", while similar, are not the same as my or your palys in this thread. All of the pictures of what is said to be a "true" rainbow paly, that I've come across, look almost exactly like my palys posted and what you call "candy apple".
These were sold to me as rainbow palys from a very reputable source. They're all nice either way!
