I didnt see it this time around with the storm that hit the Northeast but I do remember seeing lightning and hearing thunder during a snow storm maybe 10-15 years ago. Never sawheard it again since then. It would have to be a very rare thing since thunderstorms are normally caused by hot moist air rising from the ground combining with cold, dry air at altitude. Not much hot air rising from the ground in the middle of winter...

The last two major snow storms we have gotten I've witnessed it. Weird that you didn't, you're not that far away from me.
I love the sound of thunder. I have seen my share of thunder snow too. I remember my late husband coming in one night all excited and pure awe in his face..He said it's lighting outside and thundering too! Then is eyes got wide and he said "it's thunder snow!", like a little kid, and then we went out to watch.
