Received this from a fellow animal activist.

I could not get the video to work. But, it is just as well since I did find it else where and there was a lot of swearing. It was also very, very unsettling to me.
Please buy your Christmas ham from a different company. Preferably, one that does not abuse its' hogs.
These creatures do not need to be stressed out every day and tortured till they are slaughtered. I know they are just animals but they do feel pain. They could live a healthy normal life and be slaughtered humanely.
I do miss eating meat. But, since I found out about these "Factory Farms" and all the antibiotics and steroids fed to them plus all the abuse they go through. How can eating meat be healthy for anyone anymore?

Hmmm, makes me wonder how this is considered different than what Michael Vick did. Is it because they aren't cute furry animals we keep as pets?
It's not really a suprise to me seeing this. We all know what goes on in most meat facilities, but we try to ignore it.

This is total BS...This has nothing to do with eating meat (or not) and granted that there are abusers in every aspect of life. But this is PETA at it's best. Those hogs didn't have a clue what was going on. Do you think they knew "kill" was written on their backs? Notice that during the screaming section, the audible doesn't even match the picture. PETA makes this commercial appear like an Iraq beheading. Sorry, but this is rediculous. For anyone thats been around farming, in any aspect, turn off the volume and tell me what you see. NOTHING

Preach it brotha! We used to name our farm animals......pork, bacon, beef, steak. Now I don't ever want to see animals mistreated and think this video is PETA altered/skewed, but I do believe in man's domain over animals as a food source which does require killing them.

More PETA propaganda. I think I'll go have a ham sammich for supper.

Busting a pig in the snout for biting you is BS if it really happened. Kinda funny how that video just showed the guy's feet

There is no doubt that animals feel pain. We have come a long way. Growing up, I remember when it was done with a sledge hammer. Then society progressed to a single bullet. I have personally castrated more bulls than I could ever count, just so the restaurant patrons wouldn't complain about their steak being too tough.
Forget about all that...point is, this video is a bunch of crap. This is one organization pushing an agenda with an altered video. To 90% of viewers, it does appear as a mass holocaust, but this is not the case. Without the (obvious edited audio) and the jack--- bragging about beating up on inocent animals, the video is otherwise a normal operation in the food industry.

I dont know if any of you have ever lived next to a pig farm, that loud squalling... they do that without someone pushing them around. pigs are obnoxiously loud animals. if the guy is beating pigs he'll get nailed for it. as for writing kill on the pig who cares? pigs cant read. if you have ever tried to get an 800lb stubborn pig to go a direction you want it to go you would relize the catch loop is often needed. if you put it around the pigs neck its just going to walk off dragging you behind it. so you put it around the snout or ears to assist in manipulating the pig. I dont really see anything wrong with any part of the video, other than the guy who admits to hitting the pigs. Burn him the rest of the video doesnt mean a thing.

I don't even need to watch the video if PETA is behind it. I love animals and would never abuse them but Bacon is the best meat on earth.

PETA are a bunch of whackos that don't know what the heck they're talking asbout half the time. Granted some incidents are worth prusuing and getting involved.
I remember about 3 yrs ago, PETA got involved and p***ed a fit over a baby elephant that drowned at a well respected zoo in Syracuse, NY. The baby drowned due to another elephant was trying to save her and the zoo keepers did everything in their power to save her (They did get her out of the water and attempted to save her). PETA then accused the zoo of negligence. (spelling?) The public was in 100% in support with the zoo and felt that PETA have no business in how a zoo should have handled the situation. PETA also has demanded that the zoo release all their elephant to a sanctuary. What PETA don't get is - Syracuse Zoo has a fine long record of successful breeding of endangered species at the zoo for years. One death of a baby elephant - PETA jumps all over them ?!?!? C'mon - give me a break !!
I rank PETA along with the wackos that are against abortions. But that's another matter to discuss elsewhere. So no hijacking this thread topic about abortions please.
