Tiny pygmy octopus and spiny box puffer same tank.

The tank is suitable for both animals as far as water levels and tank size, I want to make sure they won't rip each other apart. Now I know large octopus should not be paired with a puffer, however because of the small size of the pygmy I was hoping there was a chance. A second tank is not an option at the moment.

I wanted to add that I already own the puffer, and the octopus is the one I have yet to purchase. Also the puffer is tiny, I am unaware of the exact size of the octopus as the listing just lists a general life expectancy size.

Hi,

Not many folks on here do the octopus thing, Crimzy is doing one now, and just added his critter....First....Welcome to the site.

An octopus has to be in a sealed tank or it will get out....The puffer needs his tank open for maximum gas exchange. So the tank can't be suitable for both species. It may be the right "size" but the set-up would need to be different. As to your question on whether or not they can be together???? ....I have no idea.
