tiny white anemone

I recently purchased a small toadstool that was grown inside of a mollusk shell type thing. Anyway, upon further inspection, i realizd that the outside of the shell has three distinct areas, where in each, there exist these tiny white anemone type creatures.
They look like any old generic anemone, about 3/4 cm across. Tentacles are translucent white, speckled with very small white dots, and tips are small white balls. When I touch them, they retract.
Anyone know what these are? Or will I need to upload a pic?

sounds like aptasia....they sting other corals and reproduce fast.....do a search on aptasia removal for an effective method of getting those

after searching through other posts, I have a feeling that these aren't aptasia.
They are clear and white, as opposed to brown.
They don't really have a base, they seemingly grow out of these hard protrusions of the shell, and only tentacles are visible.
I'll get a picture up as soon as i can.

damn it, i really wish i had a digital camera.
anyway, I drew a crude image of what it looks like.
the oval shaped thing is the mollusk shell. I have a toadstool that is growing from within it....like a mushroom in a pot.
those little barnacle like things that i drew are where the anemones are growing out of. Strange thing is....the protrusions actually look like they are part of the shell. They don't look like they attached themselves ...or that they are foreign to the shell at all.
???

I am actually thinking more along the lines of astrangia. Dwarf cup coral . . . . .

007, that is exactley what they look like. Good call.
So....they are safe? Should I keep them around? Keep them away from other corals?
Gonna do some research now...

They are very cool IMO! Definitely corals not anemone's and any free coral is a good coral if ya ask me!
THey don't need light, but they do need food.
