And it's not "just" about Rocks, or Flow, or 4",5"6"9" of sand, or "Killer Slimmers" or Water changes, or stocking levels, or star board, or Bugs and worms ...or even Phos Ban reactors....:nope:
It's About ALL These Things
in a "balanced" system YOU understand and are comfortable maintaining...
You need to know, not only "What" you have...but "Why" you have it and "What" it needs and "Why"...
All these system "Types" DSB, SSB, BB, CC, Etc ....are just a piece of the puzzle..a part of the equation.. they all have specific "requirements" and needs that have to be met for them to be successful...
Choose a system "type" you'll be "comfortable" with and then find out everything you can about it...From people who have had "success" with them...not from those that "failed"...
It's ALL the "little things" that keep the "Big thing" together and functioning...

Now that I can agree with! :D Its up to the hobbyists to research the "various methods" then decide what is best suited for what they want to achieve and how they want to achieve it.
This hobby would be a big bore if there was only one path to follow and one type of system to achieve.

Heck with that.
I wish there was only one way. It would make things a whole lot easier than wasting all the time and resources on multiple setups to get it right. I wish I had back all the money I wasted on bunk equipment.

I don't know, I don't plan on using the same equiptment or the same tank for the rest of my life. This is an evolving hobby that never gets stale. If it never changed we all still have cc and ugf's.
Now, we can all agree that that would be bad, right?

Now I "thought" we were looking for "Un-biased" opinions....

You will never find an unbiased opinion in this hobby. That's my unbiased opinion!

No one can argue and debate more than marine aquarists, and the sps-er tops all of us. LOL
