Toadstool Question

Could the area that's not looking as good as the rest of my toadstool be due to some salt creep falling and landing on it?

Is it always like that? I had a small rock fall on the edge of my toadstool, and the polyps didn't open there for a few days....Now it's fine again

No, it has only been like this for 2 days. I have had this toadstool for about 6 weeks now and it has doubled in size so I don't want it to start going downhill now.

Could something have fallen on it? The rest looks okay...
Or could something be eating it

The only thing that could have fallen on it is salt creep from when I was adjusting the box on my protien skimmer. The fleshy part does not look to be soft and rotting like so maybe it just got irritated and will be ok in a couple more days.

If you are positive salt creep landed on the coral, that certainly what it could be from. Undissolved salt is very damaging to marine life if they come in direct contact, the salt will quickly burn whatever it touches. Leathers are incredibly hardly corals, and it should come back in time.
However, toadstool corals are known to shed from time to time. If you recently done something to the tank, done a larger then normal water change, added/removed a powerhead, this could also set the toadstool off into shedding mode, as the coral begins to get rid of it's outer 'skin' (not really) layer.

I think that it may be getting ready to split. That is what mine did. At first I thought it was sick, but over a period of time it doubled in size. I started out with about 6 all in a group now they have multiplied to 14.See picture of my toadstools
