Voting for Obama.
Now, they want to prescribe the pill for all the girls, regardless of parental consent.
More unintended consequences of liberal programs.
Movies like Juno and Knocked Up also glorify premarital --- and teen pregnancy. God forbid there is --- or violence in video games, but Hollywood puts out this trash, and get awards.

that and brittany spe@r's sister...
although, giving birth control without parental consent is not going to help... these girls WANT to get pregnant, so what's the point of giving it out? balloon animals?
the story says these girls want babies so they have something that gives them unconditional love... meaning their parents aren't there for them.

I can't believe the concentration of stupidity. I think parents are afraid of not being "cool" and don't want to tell their kids no. You can't blame this on liberal social programs. Even liberals understand being a pregnent high school student is an idiotic choice to make.

Actually you can put some of the blame on social programs. They remove the consequences form actions. Social programs teach people that no matter what happens the gov't is there to bail them out. Got an extra kid or two? We'll pay for that.
So, if there is no consequence to the action, the action will be taken. "If it feels good do it." is the liberal mantra.
Again I thank the womb to the tomb liberal mentality whic encourages and pays for poor decisions.

Blaming liberals for teen pregnancy!!!

I guess if you need to blame someone...
I hear they're responsible for homelessness and AIDS too.

Prove the flaw in my logic. Obviously there is more to the issue, but the 60's free love liberal mentality as played out in todays' social programs and public schools seems not to be working well.

exactly... I don't know what Obama or the pill have to do with this conversation... this is something they wanted to do and is more of an issue with their parents, self esteem, and peers. They probably thought it would be cool and easy and they could all grow up together.... everything is not political... I also would be interested in knowing about the fathers... their knowledge and willingness to be a part of this... of course they put themselves at risk... but I'd be P##$#D if I was part of some pregnancy conspiracy.

it is very possible that they will regret this for the rest of their lives...but i have had friends who got pregnant and turned their life around...they give credit to their kids for breaking them of drugs, smoking, alcohol, ect...so maybe this will be a good thing for some of them...

This has nothing to do with politics... whole liberal thing is nonsense... and this is nothing new.... teens have been getting pregnant for these same reasons for a long time... And friends have even made pacts to do it together... however, I only heard of 2 people being involved.... not 17

they interviewed some people at the high school and they said that they thought only 2 people were in the pact...but its kind of strange that 2 turned into 17...there has to be more to this story...
and about the fathers...they are just as stupid as the girls here...i dont think that anyone thought about the long term...

It appears these girls came from a wealthier suburban area... this is not some inner city school thing or area with low income people... these students have not even been exposed to social programs... your whole hypothesis is wrong.
