No,sorry..mandarins need an established tank..with at least 100 lbs of LR.Their food source is live pods.
This is not true. I was just talkin to a friend of mine who has a 29 gallon reef and has a mandarin. he trained his Mandarin to eat frozen mysis shrimp and some other stuff! That is there normal diet but it can be asscoiated if thought or trained to accept other foods. But a weel established tank is still the best for this fish yes!

My 3 in dogface got suck up by my powerhead twice. he died the second time. He didnt actually get sucked up--- his body was spressed against it and couldn't free.
