Topics That Are Getting Old

Which topics are you tired of seeing either because you know plenty of related threads exist and the OP has not bothered to do a search or you really just don't find them interesting?
Here are some of mine:
  • Cyano
  • Hair Algae
  • Ich
    Best Salt
Stock Lists (what is this, a supermarket?)

My biggest problem is people's aversion to the search function. You can learn a lot from older post and it reduces the same old questions over and over.

Agreed, I have learned as much from surfing the old stuff and faster. The answers are there, don't have to wait for responses.
Any one else?

I just made a cyanobacteria thread

But it was about something I have never seen discussed

Am I in the clear? lol
I really don't see too many best salt threads out there.
I do think that cyanobacteria is getting as out of control here as it is in the tanks of people who have it. I love answering those though. I just fricken wish people would diagnose it as cyanobacteria and not cyano. If we call it cyanobacteria more, then I won't have to correct as many people when they refer to it as cyano algae.

Just a suggestion. I am going to start doing this and I recommend you do too.
I am also getting sick of my odd rants that seem to flow through my mind when my fingers touch the smooth keys of this keyboard.
One more thing to add is all the darn political crap in The Aquarium...good thing Sep made a sticky, that's helping quite a bit.

this is not the area to complain about peoples questions. i have been involved in this hobby for a few years now and its amazing how much has changed with new technologies.
many people in this hobby are not very computer literate and find that starting a thread is easier than sorting through tons of hits when they search. many also feel that their situation is unique so they ask.

you nailed it. There is never a new interesting thread to look at these days. just the same questions in different forms. Gets kinda boring around here sometimes.

Let me get this straight....
Someone can logon to a computer, find this site, figure out how to become a member and make a post, but they're too computer illiterate to use the search function? Sorry, that doesn't pass the smell test.
I'm sure, we've all taken the shortcut route of just posting without a search (me included), but let's call it what it is....a little laziness.

not when you and spanko are entertaining me, lol
To be on the safe side I would keep it around 150degrees. should give your fish a nice tan too.

That question is sorta case specific you know? But yeah, it does get annoying. 150 seems a little low, are you keeping coldwater fish?

It's kinda amusing to see people say for there thread titles:
"stupid/dumb question about"
"same old questions,sorry"
and some others I have seen but can't think of.

I do not think you are supposed to pick on a persons question

some of us "newbies' just want to particpate online, but hardly get the consideration of an answer. I have done searches and come up with posts that are nothing to do with my search or they are never ending. I guess you could just look over our idiot posts.

LOL...I know what you mean about the search function though...I was trying to find something this morning and it took an hour....
Don't take it personally if your post doesn't get answered...a lot don't just because they don't is all
