Hi everyone. My parents have been thinking about getting turbo tax to do their taxes but, they asked me to try to find out what others experiences have been while using it. If you use it could you post your experiences with it good or bad. Thanks in advance.

as an accountant... tell them to save their money... spend the $75 to $??? on a good accountant (not the Block heads, Liberty, or Jackson Hewitt)... if they have just W-2 go ahead and use the turbo tax, but odds are they will miss something that will give them a deduction...

Have used TurboTax for seven years and never had a problem with it. They ask so many questions and if you are not sure abou the question they give a link to explain it. Now if they are running a business, I do not know about that part. As married with four children and a

I seem to find all I can with TurboTax. I used to use H&R Rip Off and they took me for $135. plus that was the rapid refund that they charged like 38% interest on your money. That was when I was young and stupid. Some friends of mine use an accountant and they find some questionable breaks in my opinion but that comes back on the accountant, I guess.

I've used Turbo Tax for the last 7 years and will be using it again this year. It does ask alot of questions for deductions and the deluxe version comes with an estimator if you've made donations. I'm on auto renew with it and it costs me $40 and I get the state download free.

i've used it the last 5yrs just 'cause it's easy. i've been audited the last 3. stupid because i make student money, not married and no biz. it's hard to get back reports, therefore i've had wages garnished one of those years. this year i will be doing the hand writing mail in thing. when you have to pay for some crappy hard to use program and then pay all the taxes again, it makes you think.

you can go to the following: http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=98294,00.html there is a link at the bottow about free internet filing options and depending on how much your agi comes to you can use the free version of tax software and efile for free. I didn't know about this until i bought my turbotax and the one that is free is exactly the same. Now i am going to try and return the one i bought. no sence in paying for somethng you can get for free. check it out!! I had been using turbo tax for deluxe for the last few years and never had a problem

Agreed, my wife and I have been using an accountant the last 4 years and he does a great job. Costs a little more upfront but he always gets up nice fat refund!

I paid $43.15 including shipping. I think it's cheaper if you go to the site & download it but I like having the disk.

Yep. Go to Intuit's web site and purchase. You have the option of a download or a CD/disc.
If you get the "Deluxe" you can download the state software free.

Is there a clear advantage in using the "Deluxe" version over the "Basic" version? My wife and i have always used the "Basic" version, but i think i have convinced her that we will use an accountant this year..... thanks to this post.
