love how the side of the red velvet looks like different colors from different angles. I see orange green and yellow. This happens to my solar too. (except he only does blue and green.)
and of course gotta love fairy wrasse eyes.

i have owned two solorensis and i know what you are talking about...i would not own one again though unless i had 3 or 4 females to go with it beacuse they fade so much..very pretty fish though..i love the color change while in display

Wow, beautiful fairy's you have. You have quite a collection of rare wrasses!! The red velvet is also known as the the rosy scale fairy, correct? After seeing you pics I had to try and fine one of my own and luckily the day after asking my LFS about them the very next day she got them in!!! I picked up an insanely colored male that has some nice size to him. My lfs is so great, the owner gave me a beyond screaming deal @ $20!!! I'll try to get some pics but he has been hiding for the most part; hopefully he comes around in the next few days.

I heard about how solars can fade but i found a article that suggested a mirror to make them think there is another. I lean the mirror against the tank for a few hours every few days and it seems to work.

Yup, you're right, he's out and about like he owns the tank now. My angel was a bit impartial to him at first but now he seems to be enjoying the company.
Here are some shots of mine. Hope you don't mind.

Okay, I've got to have one of those red velvet/rosy scale fairy wrasses! How big do they get?
..... going to post on my local reef club message board asking sponsor LFS's if they have/can get this fish in.

kat they are one of the fairys thta stay small...mine is about 3" and i don't think they get much larger than that maybe 4 at the most but i doubt it and i have never seen one that big...great fish i love mine more and more everyday...i had to move the yellowfin it did not like the conde's at all and the red velvet did not like it
