I realize that everybody is creating a tank diary page instead of taking up forum space by posting pictures every time they add or update something to their aquarium so I’ll follow suit.

I currently have a 34 gallon red sea max aquarium that I upgraded to about 2 months ago from my 20 gallon aquarium. I will be doing another update shortly since I’m on Christmas break, probably Wednesday or Thursday

Here is a short recap of my aquarium, future plans, and water levels:

Water Levels:
Calcium- 410
Alkalinity- 9.3
Magnesium- 1320
PH- around 8.1
Nitrate- between 0 and 5 (pretty low and always has been)
Nitrite- 0
i;">Ammonia- 0
Phosphate- below .25 (on my test kit, .25 is the second lowest option behind 0 phosphate
Fish Stock:
Wheelers Goby
(I lost my 2 clownfish and firefish in the moving process L but I plan on buying a pair of onyx clownfish this next week at work…I work at Premium Aquatics in Indy as a part time job but hey I’m just in high school still)

Coral Stock:
10 heads of green-tip branching hammer coral
1 medium size purple-tip wall hammer coral
1 medium size (5 heads?) multi-colored frogspawn coral (purple and green tips)
1 small size pink bubble coral
Pulsing Xenia
GSP (growing on back wall only)
Orange crush acan (surrounded by tons of blue clove polyps)
Tiger acan
Molten lava zoas
Dragon eye zoas
PPE’san>
Rainbow palys
Jokers zoas
Darth Mauls zoas
Sunburst Zoas
Yellow polyps
3 ricordeas
Red mushrooms
Small rock covered with cool, but assorted polyps
(want to add a Duncan colony, and a LARGE frogspawn/torch/or hammer coral mothercolony)

Stock Inverts:
5x large nassarius snails
5x turban snails
5x margarita snails
6-9x red scarlet hermits
5-8x blue leg hermits
X1 Emerald Crab
(Want to add pom-pom crab, and rose bubble from my 90 gallon)

I was actually planning on doing a video on my filtration because I modified it do get more water flow and I haven't noticed anthing negative because of it..but I also took out the stock protein skimmer that came with the Red Sea Max and threw in a hydor slim-skim protein skimmer
Here is a picture of what I did with my filtration

The blue area is where I put all my filtration sponges (carbon, media, and phosphate sponge). I put it there so it could be filtered as soon as it enters the back
The orange area is where I grow macroalgae
The green are is where I placed my protein skimmer I left the left compartment empty and that gave me a TON of extra water flow
It’s a good mod IMO, and I haven’t seen anything negative so far
All compartments are seperated by egg crates

Also in term of powerheads I have my 2 return pumps which offer a ton of water flow and I also have 2x 240 GPH koralia powerheads with are on 15 second timers

I have one of those Koralia 240 nano's on my 20g tank and it doesn't do much at all. I was very disappointed with the purchase. I should have gone with two 440s. I'll be upgrading to an MP10Wes soon anyways.

I have 2 and I can't say I'm unhappy with them, sure they could offer a little more flow but I have them positioned each in a great spot...MOST food that is left over almost always is sucked in by the filter and my corals are always moving...I know everybody is entitled to their own opinion but I haven't found fault in them quite yet
But I'd rather have the MP10 though

Oh yeah. I know what you mean. I just like a little extra flow in my tanks because I like to keep SPS corals.

Right, and I was planning on buying a green stylo frag and an orange monti cap coral so I may have to buy one more powerhead...I may buy the stylo and monti cap and see how each do for the first 3/4 days and then decide on whether or not I need to buy another powerhead

and I ordered my DIY LEDs today
-I bought 6 "high end" white bulbs
-I also bought 15 "premium" royal bulbs

I bought a multi-colored ricordea yuma today for $25 (its got a green center and orange around it)
I also bought a pregnant pom-pom crab
I'll add pictures if you guys want, but it'll all be in the video that I do next week...just waiting to install my LED's before I do my video

I bought an awesome dragon soul favia at work on Friday, it'll be in the video next week I'll post pictures if anybody wants

Okay, I’ll add pictures as soon as my lights come on and my coral opens up
I’m HOPEFULLY installing my LEDs today also; I’ll post pictures of that process as well
I’m currently trying to decide on a anemone to put in my tank; I’m torn between a purple long tentacle, red Indonesian rose bubble, or a sebae anemone…any input on that would be great
I’ve decided on the type of clownfish I’m going with after tossing it around for a week or so and I’m going to pick up 2 onyx clownfish from work (Premium Aquatics in Indy) on Friday
Things I’ve added:
-Magician Zoas
-More Joker and Darth Maul Zoas
- I believe they’re Armor of God Zoas (not entirely sure)
