In 72 hours he angered the military right (Gitmo), the religious right (international abortion funding / Mexico City policy I think its nickname is), and he hasn't solved the recession / banking crisis (ignorant, if people think this is an easy fix).

Oh anyone remember when George W had the highest rating of any president when we invaded Iraq? My how we forget and bail what we were once in favor for (right or wrong after the fact).

Also he has annoyed the press, and came off as being a smidge arrogant ("I won" to repubs in congress who were concerned about the bailout details)...perhaps not exactly the change desired?
Gotta say though, wonder what he'll do next week.

It is finally becoming obvious he is a detached President and thus makes poor decisions. This is why he never made any decisions in the senate....IMO I imagine his ratings are going to continue to slip... And we are in for a horrible next four years.
You think the last few were bad...

Well, it also says only 12% disapproved, so I don't know. But when you try to please the left and right at the same time, you are bound to make some mad. There were the Gitmo and abortion thing, but there is also the continued tax cuts and bombing in Pakistan to aid him along. But who knows, it will be interesting to see how the next ones sit.

I don't think that filling his cabinet with gangsters and tax evaders helped either. This ordeal with auctioning his old seat in Illinois doesn't look good on him either. (whether he was involved or not

One way or the other. If you'd asked be a month ago what the polls would have been I'd a told you. 80% down to the 60%'s. Where it will stay for a while.

I like how they poll the uninformed public what we should do in the middle east instead of wanting to take the advice of educated generals and leaders of what we should do.
I miss the days of John Kerry running for president.... wait till the polls come out and THEN decide which side your going to take on a topic lol

The tax cheat as treasury head is going to come back to haunt him.

I wouldn't really care who is in office if they would just quit blowing all my money like drunken sailors.
Watch out for higher taxes.... gotta pay for all these bailouts and "stimulus" packages somehow (our own money).

We'll pay for those the way we always pay for them - mostly with inflation. That's how we're going to pay for Bush's excesses as well.

The abandonment of conserative principles between Bush's spending and Obama's spending, is going to make for a VERY interesting economics study over the next 4 years.
