Ok im posting this thread to show some usually not thought of fish. Most of these fish are reef safe and need a tank size under 100 gallons and peacefull tank mates. Feel free to post pics if you have any of these fish and or other unusual fish.

Another cool fish from the coribbean. This fish is some what a night dweller and needs plenty of places to hide. These beauties dont do well alone and do well in groups of three or more.
Completly reef safe. Atleast 70 gallons is ideal for these guys.

when buying make sure you get them 2 1/2-3"

If the idea of keeping more then one Hi-Hats doesnt appeal to you this is your fish
A 75 gallon is a good size. One per tank as they tend to make twerritories. But you can mix these with hi-hats and other drums, And the awsome pork fish!!! (i know you guys have your hearts set on it) Lot of swimming space is needed as well as lots of LR. Sorry guys but this one is not as easy as some of its relatives.

The last of the more common drums looks just like the jack knife fish as a young lad bbut differs when grown. Verry pretty and do well alone or in groups. 60 gallons is ok for this guy as he is not big on swimming. Lots of rocks for him to hide in.

Another member of the drum family, its not easy to come by. Its a smaller member of the family that loves to swim. Oh how he swims. He does need plenty of rocks to fee to when startled. Atleast 50 gallons for this little guy.

A rare find indeed. This little guy needs a 55 gallon tank and many MANY palces to hide. These guys are shy in nature and really need peacefull tanks mates.

Kinda contradictory, right there. lol
Anisotremus virginicus will reach lengths of 15"...I dont think a 70gal. (or even a 100gal) would be sufficient

they can get big but even in the wild you never see them more then like 7" on average. And i know it sounds like it but i did do extensive research on this fish and the poeple at a respectable fish store plus several web sites have told me a 70 gallon would be fine because those fish dont get as large in the home aquarium.
but i do respect your 2 cents

I do have to say I have worked with porkfish, frequently on the larger side (which were wild caught, BTW). A fish, IMO, that needs a pretty spacious tank, especially considering the schooling aspect. A really great fish though, I agree!! Thanks for the thread as well!

Yep, I agree. A porkfish would need a much larger tank than 70 gallons, not to mention that they are a schooling fish.
Nonetheless, good post.
