hi, please can someone tell me what is this that is happening to my fish. It looks like one of the eye is popping out a little and I'm not sure if it is ich or some other disease but the body is also covered with white. Here is a picture but I'm not sure if it's clear enough for you to see.

Looks and sounds like pop-eye and maybe ich as well. Did you look through the pictures in the Disease forum?

Looks like pop eye and ich. This fish needs treatment ASAP. There are articles in this forum about each and the ways to effectively treat them. Do you have any other fish with this one? Do you have a QT tank?

I combined 2 threads...let's keep this all in one for less confusion
I was about to PM you about this, I couldn't do it from my phone

Can you tell us how long you have had this fish and what are the water reading in the tank that you have him in?
The popped eye is an eye infection. The fish looks like pretty bad stress (the white blemishes on the body) which may be a bacterial infection. Your pictures are a tad blurry so it is hard to tell.
Can you describe in detail what you are seeing on the body? Check out these pictures to see if anything looks familiar.

Hi, I'm not sure exactly what I really need for my QT, is it just a filter, powerhead, and heater is enough. and one other question, do I really need to put my new fish in the QT and for how long ? I haven't done that way, so everytime I get new fish, I acclimate them and just put in the DT but then after a few days each and every one of the fish died . I test the water parameters and they all read fine with nitrate-0, nitrite-0, ammonia-0, ph-8.3 and SG 1.024 , so I thought okay the water looks good so nothing should happen but the fish still died one by one. I had between 4-5, I think it's too much but my stubborn husband won't believe me so now all the fish had died, now I only have a sailfin tang in a 55 gal tank. after all the other fish died, I thought the sailfin was doing fine until now, it's showing some signs of disease but I don't know what and yes I did go to the disease and treatment forum for this. I thought I just want to share. Something I must have done wrong at the beginning to make all the fish died. I still don't know what the reason is. so frustrating.

I've tried to take a good picture but the fish kept staying in the back where the current of the powerhead is. I tried my best

Beth, for sure it's the pop eye, I don't think it's ich it doesn't have the salt grain look, it has white slimy thing on its whole body. I can't take a nice, clearer picture of it.sorry

angel, can you re-read through my post, and then answer my questions. Also take a look at the pictures I linked.

I think we are posting faster than we can read each other posts.
How long have you had this fish, and post up your water readings in the tank this fish is in.
I need that answered.
