Valentines Day gift

I learned along time ago not to get my wife anything for her to wear, especially lingerie which is really a gift for me to enjoy (I think it might be a little annoying for her to take the time to put it on only to have me take it off in a minute or two).
I am going with a spa pack for my wife....facial, hour massage and manicure/pedicare. I am also tempted to get her jewerly but she NEVER wears anything I get her so what's the point?

i really like it! simple enough to be worn everyday and with a nice pair of earrings/tennis bracelet can be worn for a dressier event

That is really nice... I'd better not look at this post any more and risk my fiance seeing that and wanting one too

Candy is dandy
but liquor is quicker.....
For some reason what Crash wrote reminded me of that saying.

and KerriAnn, what Government agency ever declared Valentines Day "for women only"? So what do you get him?...and let us analyze how that is "really" received coming from a male perspective. I can already tell you...card (OMG...save the money), candy(please...that was really for you, right), etc. How come I never got a SkilSaw for Valentine's Day...for pete's sake

Glad to see I'm not the only guy that this "holiday" disturbs". Every year, I'm like what the heck...I mean, I know it's all about showing love for your significant other, so I try to do so, but where is the returned love. We want some power tools, fish expo tickets, etc. I usually get a card, maybe a basket with some candy. We all want to talk straight forward here right?
ps...don't let my wife see this

The whole transcript of this thread has been sent to her

Why not get $50 worth of jewelry and $50 of Victoria's Secret.....Now everyone is happy!

Girls do like things that sparkle...if you want, you can get the lingerie TOO, but consider that more of a gift for yourself ;) When picking out jewelry ....does she have a jewelry box? go look in it and see if you can get her sense of "style" she may love simple, elegant or more whimsical stuff and you can usually get a pretty good idea of what she'll like from what she allready has.

True enough .
I keep getting told The whole BS about not caring about valentines day . Yeah like I am stupid enough to believe that one . Its not the day that matters its how you love me every other day line . Which mean you better not mess this up or you will pay for it the other 364 days .

oh c'mon, it's a girls' holiday!! if valentine's was removed from the scene would a single guy out there care??? NOT AT ALL! and as for what i get him i'm just as torn as you guys! this is only the second time in my life that i've had a boyfriend for v-day and i have NO idea what to get him! i mean honestly, what do you get the guy who has everything?? i've used up all of my "cases of beer" of "bottle of captain" during football season - it's not a shock for him anymore for me to show up with alcohol. i don't even remember what i got him last year to help me for this year... and, in all honesty, we don't want the presents, we just want the attention...haven't you noticed how v-day falls right after football season??

True...it's definately a girl's holiday. Never thought about it coming right after football season, but that's funny. Who planned that btw? Pretty smart. As for him, I would just say remember that it's a "him", so nothing girly like candy, cards, flowers. Maybe some tickets to comedy (Larry the Cable Guy) or a game that you both could go to. If it has to be clothes, at least make it a hat or sweatshirt with his favorite team logo.

oh trust me, i'm good at sifting "guy gifts" from "girl gifts". last christmas i bought him a beer of the month club membership and a new head unit for his car. the problem is his birthday was saturday and i took him out for wings and bought him some corals for his tank so i'm running out of plans...could probably do tickets to a pens game tho but i always feel like that's cheating cuz i like to watch these games too...

Try going simple. A nice steak dinner and a movie, but a "guy movie" something with lots of action and fight scenes. lol, i would be happy with that. Luckly my gf and I have agreed years ago to keep it simple, I cook a nice dinner at home with a bottle of wine and she makes desert. Flowers and chocolate and call it a day.

That would be my husband. When it comes to gifts, he has a list of power tools and wood working tools that he is wanting. I just pick one from those lists and he is always happy :)
