unless he wants to time his operations everytime...but i'd go with something else personally...having those small tidbits arent bad, they are cool...just pointless to make the add-ons the biggest part

GShock are some kick ass product, but I don't think they'd be considered "professional". I have two, both of which I wore in the military. I also have a Casio watch, that I'm still in love with, that I used as a diving watch...I wear that one every day.
Look into DKNY watches. My ex girlfriend bought me one a few years ago and I still get compliments on it and people asking where I bought it. They'll range in price from a few hundred to over $1000. I have two Rolex and I still prefer this DKNY watch.

I personally like a simple looking watch, no extra dials. I have a seiko kinetic titanium that I really like. I don't quite remember how much it was, I purchased it back when I was single and had more money than time to spend it... But I still like the watch, here is a picture.

you are right about all the functions. I think the date and maybe a seconds clock might be enough

Fossil is a really cheap watch that fades and falls apart after time, why not spend a little more for the g-shock, they are getting quite stylish and can take a beating.
