Water Change With Snail At Water Line

I recently did a 5 gallon water change. I had a snail that was exposed to the air when I removed water. I tried to gently pull him off before I did the change, but I couldn't budge him.
How do others handle this? Do you expose them to the air for 5 minutes or pull harder to remove them?
Thanks,
Brian

I've had the best luck physically sliding them down the glass while allowing them to remain on the glass. It's kind of like sliding a suction cup across glass. HTH

what about SPS corals? if the SPS corals are very close to the top of the surface and when you do water change, the water level dropped so the top portion of the corals are exposed to air, will this be ok? how long can the SPS corals be exposed to air?
thanks!

I leave the snails on the glass when doing a water change. And SPS can handle being out of the water for a while also. If you are only changing out 5 gallons, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes...you should be fine.
