water changes

how much water and how often do you do water changes? i've been doing abot 25% (15 gal in my 55gal tank) a month. would it be better to do smaller changes more frequently?

Frequency/quantity of water changes have alot to do with what you maintain your tank. So we'd need to know what you have, intend to have, etc.

right now in our 55 we have
17#live rock (getting about 30-50 more in a week)
2 clarkii clowns
1 domino damsel
1 yellow tail damsel
1 mandarin goby
1 condi anemone
1 peppermint shrimp
2 hermit crabs
our filter system is the penguin 300
eventually we want to get maybe 2 or 3 more small to medium fish........not sure what kind yet.

Smaller, more often provides a more stable environment.
I would shoot for 10% every other week.

yeah go for smaller frequent water changes, large water changes are more of a shock to fish.

5 gallons a week using an old salt bucket is convenient, easy to remember, easy to mix, and easy to pour.
