Water Chemistry Questions...

My water params are: 80.5 F, 1.0245 SG, Ca is at 460ppm, Alk tests at norm/low. pH is at 8.2, Nitrite .007 ppm, nitrate <2.5ppm, and Ammonia at .25 ppm. I use Red Sea test kits so, these results aren't perfect... I understand that I should try to have my Nirates, Nitrites, and Ammonia levels at zero, but the "worst" reading is the Nitrate at <2.5ppm (that's less than 2.4 PartsPerMillion) - isn't that "acceptable"?
I'm just wondering if these contitions are OK. I test my water for ALL the things listed above about every 6 weeks or so. I test my SG every time I do a water change (weekly). I was told by someone in another forum that my water was "lousy" and I was a little miffed to be honest - as I thought everything was fine. I just really wanted a second opinion more than anything...

Your Nitrates are fine, Ammonia and NitrItes HAS TO BE AT 0, Red Sea is famous for .25 readings. Get another test kit and you may find that your ammonia is in fact 0.

I think they are becoming legendary, in fact! When you see that ".25 for ammonia" ya just know the test kit.....
:D
I bet you are at O on ammonia too.

So, basically, what you're saying Bang, is that my test kit is junk... How much are these Salifert test kits? The Red Sea one I have was like $45. I thought it was kinda pricey.
