One way to get rid of mojano's:
if you have access to a syringe with needle, pull some calcium into the syringe and inject the mojano with the calcium. The mojano won't stand a chance. If you use powder calcium just dissovle it in water and then pull it into the syringe. Liquid buffer works as well.

yeah I think my ph buffer i used contains an alk buffer as well.
I used one of the two part dosing liquids from Bionic. Either way, inject the mojano and it literally turns to goo.

I know what aiptasias are and what we are discussing is not aiptasias but a different type of anemone. While attractive, they are undoubtedly a pest. They spread rapidly and sting anything in their path.
And yes, I know the difference between polyps and this type of anemones. Unfortunatel, it's from personal experience.

Thanks for the welcome. The only way I know to eradicate these pests is with a needle, syringe and a little injection of either vinegar or miratic (sp) acid. I would not recommend scrubbing as they will just recede and continue spreading.

The picture illustrates the problem very well. The Lobo is being continually stung and has begun to recede. Can you move the Lobo to a place not near the little pests? That should help.

assuming these are mojanos or fiji anemones, - which i have to agree with now since they aren't growing as a colony - is this the only color they are found in or do they come in all colors like polyps??

Majano's, depending on the region they come from, can be a multitude of colors, just not as bright or vibrant as Zoanthids.
*There might be more colorful and vibrant majanos, than what I have seen, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were.

thanks...what do they look like when they close? i assume that since they dont grow as a colony they don't have the purple when they close?? they just suck into the rock or what?

The portion of the majano that actually has varied color is the disc portion. Not the stem, which is using brown or beige.
Wave something in front or near it and it should close up and you will see. Very different texture, hardness, and shape than a Zoanthid. 'Mostly' they retract their tentacles and stem, and shrink their disc. The shape will feeding on something solid can be compared to most other corals and anemones. Also they can move on their own like every other anemone.
This is from personal experience with several species of majano's that have come as hitch hikers on corals and rocks.
Others may have different experiences with them.

Lestregus,
They tend to quickly pull back into the rock if they sense something attacking them. They are incredibly fast and can completely "hide" in the rock they are attached to.

I don't know how... any suggestions? I was thinking of ridding the anenomes instead but moving the lobo might be an option?

I am not sure syringes are readily available in drug stores but you might want to ask a pharmacist if he has one you can buy.
If you get a syringe you won't need to move the lobo. I had a particularly hard to kill mojano once only bc it found a deep hole to hide in. I ruined the syringe killing the thing and I left a huge hole in my LR from digging around.
