Honestly, the Suburbans have been the most useful. Can tow almost anything, and the ******** space is right up there with the Mini-Vans. In 2001 we were looking at Caravan's too, but just felt such a step down. The Suburban was more a side step. They're soo much tougher. Blast down a washed out road, throw the wet dogs in the back. The only sacrifice has been mileage. But it's not that bad. Honestly we get over 20mpg on the highway.
Anyways just a thought, maybe in a year or two since she 'technically' got hers, maybe trade-in the 3-series, since the larger car is gone and move upmarket? 550i 6-speed? 740i?

We don't ever tow anything, SUV's look better, but I hate driving them as well.
When my wife makes partner at her practice in Aug 2011 she gets a $550 a month lease allowance. Then it's on.

Wait, you get paid to go play golf, while you're wife is an lawyer, and puts in long hours. AWESOME!

LOL Doctor, even better....I'm a PGA Professional, but I get paid to teach golf....The difference between Golf Professional and Professional Golfer
....I have made a few checks playing golf, but that is against other club Pros like myself, not the guys that come out to my course and shoot 62 from the back tees.
