Lower you pH to 8.2-8.0 (slowly) and keep a close eye on the fish to see if you notice aggression.
Are those missing scales or are they growths?

Wait a few hours to make the final adjustment to get down to 1.009.
Good luck renogaw. I had a bicolor that was covered with ich and made it!

Is the area around the hole read at all? If you are absolutely certain that there is no aggression, then begin the melafix treatment. Be sure to feed your fish high quality foods dosed with vitamines and fresh garlic. BTW Mike, I did recieve your email

well, gramma died. the whole fin is gone, so now i'm wondering if it was ich or something else. should i continue hypo?

Ich would not do that. I would continue the hypo for the full 3 weeks. If you have not seen any spots on the blennie then he will be good to go after treatment. Were the fishes eyes popped like that before he died? That fish looks as though he was realy beat on. He is missing skin on his back as well. What is in your qt besides the blennie? Do you have a piece of rock or anything in there? I find it very hard to believe that a bicolor blennie could do that. How does the blennie look?

i'd be a little ashamed to say i don't exactly know when the royal gramma died...it was always hiding in the powerhead bracket so it may have been in there for a while. I don't like messing with them if they find a hiding spot for stress reasons. it could have been decomposing (no, i have no testable ammonia or nitrites--tested after taking out the body) to look that way.
before hypo started, i had a blue leg hermit in there to help out with excess food. other than that, there is just the blenny. i cannot believe the blenny would have done this damage either.
there are three pieces of pvc fittings in there, the power head, and a penguin hob filter

Sucks man I'm sorry. You did all that you could. I think you would have noticed aggression if there was some. How's the blenny doing?

blenny is fine. i've never seen one go tiger striped as much as this one does. whenever i go up to the tank he changes color. once i walk away, he goes back to his normal color. just funny is all :)

I love it when fish light up. You going to wait until your hypo session is over and get another gramma?

lost the blenny this morning. then i found it inside my filter that i keep over my intake to the penguin filter. stupid thing hiding and making me think it jumped out.

10-4 good to hear that he's still swimming. Would have been a disasterous qt session if he had died.
