Quite nice here now in Northern Cali.
Fires are more in control. Threat is min.
Sunny and bright but not crazy hot. Ambient road temp and air temp spot on for great riding this week.

Happens all the time. But the media is hyping every little thing up more lately.
Not to downplay the natural catastrophes across the Country, but it's getting built up more than it used to be.

I have a gas generator, but my neighbors are gonna hate me if I have to run it for any amount of time.
It's loud. But I always offer to refrigerate stuff for them as a courtesy.

I guess I better start saving my money now so I can fill my generator. I think the gas to fill it costs more than the generator is worth.

I agree..but I will keep an eye on it. I'm pretty much ready anyways...I really only need to get fuel for my generator...I have everything else.

Buddy of mine called me last night, asking how long his fish will live without power
.Turns out the storm knocked out about 10 square blocks of power
.So we broke out the 'ol portable generator.
Of coarse power came back on within a hour, but good to know your prepared for it when it comes.I live 2 miles from gulf so hurricanes or whatnot I'm ready. If anything Ivan taught alot of us in Florida to be ready for everything.

I Was Living In Port Saint Lucie Fl When Hurricane Francis Hit.lost Power For A Week. Lost Everything. I Had 2 Tanks. One 55 And One 65.after Francis Another Hit A Few Weeks Later.i Was So Upset I Got Out Of The Hobby For Awhile.. Now That I Live In Ocala Fl, In The Middle Central Florida, I Don't Worry As Much But I Think If You Have Any Kind Of Tank You Should Be Prepared With Battery Operated Power Heads Or Something No Matter Where You Live. I Have 2 Now.i Lived In Marietta Ga For A Year And Have Tons Of Tornadoes Around.there Is No Where Like Fl Though. Would Not Want To Live Anywhere Else.i Can Leave My Windows Open 6 Months Out Of The Year Here.weather Being From Oct-apr Between 50-70 Degrees. A Few Days Can Be Nippy But All In All I Love It Here..i Do Not Think This New Hurricane Coming With Hit Here Eather, But I Can Be Wrong.i Was Living In Boca Raton Fl When Hurricane Andrew Hit Miami. It Was Supossed To Hit Boca Head On And Hit Miami Instead.so, Just Keep A Watch Out And Be Prepaired.

Well my personal opinion is if you are told to get out.....GET OUT!!! The Saturday before Katrina I was in STL screaming at the people on TV to get out!!!! You can't rely on past storms that you "rode out" to save your life.
I have evacuated several times in my life time from hurricanes. The last one had the nerve to follow us. We left the west coast beaches, (it was gonna take out Tampa Bay) took us 7 hours to get us to the Orlando area(normally 1 1/2 hours). Woke up the next morning and we were told to evacuate or be on lock down. Yes, hurricane Charley messed up this midwest girls life. TWICE !!! He took a 90 degree turn into Punta Gorda a few clicks south.
BTW the maps provided above do not show from Missouri to the south to Arkansas over to southern Illinois one of the biggest earthquake faults in the country (along with tornados).....the New Madrid Fault.
