So, on saturday i bought a coral beauty and he was all healthy looking. He was doing fine yesterday (sunday) all looking healthy and beautiful like he should. But then this morning, He was found stuck on a powerhead in my tank. So i quickly pull him off and then he floated peacfully to the sand. He is pronounced dead
. I have contacted my LFS and i asked about there return policies. I am waiting for an e-mail reply. I may be able to go today but not shure yet. But until then, he is in peace.
It is kind of weird to me because all my parem. are normal. Also i have two other fish in the tank. A clownfish, and a chomis. Both normal and healthy as they have been for the past month or so.

Well it has been my experience that until my tank was two years mature I could not keep any kind of dwarf Angel alive. I went through two flame angels and a lemonpeel during that time and gave up. Then I got another a lemonpeel that did great and I still have him.
I was told that even normal numbers in a new tank bounce around and that little bit of flex does not sit well with angels, that they need a mature tank to thrive. In my case that was certainly true.

Are you going to try again with another one or wait a bit? I only waited because I paid $95.00 for the first flame that lived one day, so I thought it may have been the stores fault and they didn't give my money back. So I got the next one from SWF.com for a $119.00 he lasted two days, CUC got it so I had nothing to show SWF.com for a refund, I did not use a QT back then. The Lemonpeel was purchased about three months later and lasted a month before it died and I gave up having one altogether.
That's when I was told about the mature tank thing...So major time passed before I tried again. They sure are pretty fish. I have seen Noobs on this site with flame angels having no problems keeping them.

The blenny is more than likely going to have the same issue as the angel did, not enough algae on the rocks.
What is your stocklist for this tank (already in there and what you want in there eventually)?

LOL..No not cyano. I personally like bubble algae, I think that it's pretty. I would clear some areas and make sure it only grows where I want it.
It is not however the type of algae angels like, they eat the green stuff, my lemonpeel loves hair algae. I had some on my output tube and he cleaned it in a day. I have never had a pencil urchin, I'm not sure they will eat that type of algae either. I do know my Diadema urchin will eat all the green off of the rock and flat tank first before going for the coraline. I would think that type of algae would get ignored by an urchin.

check your ph right before your lights go off. and then check it right before you turn the lights back on. your ph could be dropping a lot at night

Algae sheets work for fish, I feed my tangs and angel algae sheets, but my urchin does not touch it.
PH drops at night but it is not a good thing. Some have a refugium with macroaglae in it and have the lights on at night to balance out the PH, so it's the same night and day.

why would you want it on your rocks anyway.....I have no green algae on my rocks...I have tangs, a flame angel, a coral beauty, a purple urchin, lotsa snails, crabs...none of mine are starving
I do feed the tank well though with excellent foods for the fish that I have, and also use algae sheets
I got the coral beauty after my tank was only 1 month old, and the flame a few months after.....
